Of all the learning we can gather from the video, one set of data makes it clear that digital marketing in the Philippines is ripe with opportunities for the future.

As states in the video, the Philippines already has a 58% internet penetration rate.  Though high, the country is still growing faster compared to the global benchmark; growth at a rate of 27%.  This clearly shows that despite the slow internet connection, Filipinos are connected.  Spending as much as 4.2 hours per day on social media.  Companies should take advantage of this growing trend and should start to seriously include Digital Marketing as a strategy for growth.

I for one see the opportunities available in Digital Marketing as the solution that I have been looking for in terms of growing the sales of my territory.

Sales is all about reach; having a wide distribution network allows the company to reach more clients.  Simply put the more agents you have the more clients you'll be able to reach and therefore the more sales you'll have.

The challenge is growing sales through the agency distribution channels takes a lot of time to develop and is an expensive method.

Digital Marketing when used properly, allows for a wider reach at lesser cost.  It's all a matter of developing the right tools and materials that will give me the right results.

I am, more than ever, excited of the prospects of how I can use Digital Marketing and the power of Social Media to touch more lives and share with them the value of Financial Planning.

Steve Vamos  touched on many aspects on the need to change most  specially on our mindset; from individualistic to a truly  collaborative mindset. Of all the things he mentioned, what resonates the most is the need to be constantly reflective; to  challenge ourselves on why we exist, what is our priority to constantly question why you do and why it’s relevant to  others.

The Hats I Wear

First and foremost, let's be honest, this blog was created as a requirement for my MBA course on Digital Marketing.  In other words, I started this blog out of compliance. But then again, after thinking long and hard (less than 1 minute) on what the title of my blog should carry and  with much discernment, I finally settled on the now iconic "The Hats I Wear" blog page. Just to give you a glimpse of the thought process (all in less than 60 seconds) that I went through,  I started by  reflecting on who I am, what defines me, how do people know me, during my wake - what would be my eulogy?  Then it hit me, I am who I am; but, I am also a mosaic of different personalities depending on necessity.  As the old adage goes - "Necessity is the mother of Invention."  In my case, re-invention.  How else can you explain how an introvert was thrust to the limelight of sales and management. I am a conundrum of many things to many different people. I am ...
